Forthcoming features Welcome to a new ‘season’ of tax-planning and tax-saving articles in The Schmidt Report. Regular readers will notice quite a few changes to the recurring articles, for example we have a new series, starting this month, devoted to property tax, which is an ever-more-important and more popular subject. We are also devoting a series to inheritance tax, and in this month’s edition we are kicking off with an article about the basic rules, and some basic planning wheezes. Offshore tax is another favourite subject, or rather saving tax using offshore residence or offshore entities is. So, as a companion to the offshore tax supplements that we sometimes bring out with The Schmidt Report, I am looking to reintroduce this as a regular feature. This month, we are looking at becoming non-UK-resident, which is a rather topical subject at the moment in the light of the Gaines Cooper case. And so on and so on.
